The Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences is committed to promoting inclusive excellence in its classrooms and work environments to ensure the academic success and wellbeing of all members of our community.
As educators in classroom, lab, and field experiences, we must continually learn, unlearn, and grow in our practices for developing and sustaining inclusive teaching and learning environments. Following on our commitment to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the department, the ESCi DEI Committee has collaborated with the UMN Center for Educational Innovation and Sehoya Cotner of the SEISMIC Initiative to create a half-day workshop on "Classroom Inclusivity" that all members of the ESCI community are welcome and encouraged to attend.
