Accessibility in ESCI

The Accessible ESCI team has formed to move towards cultivating an environment of open and transparent conversations around accessibility in the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Everyone’s experiences are unique and we acknowledge that our personal understanding of accessibility is not reflective of the greater ESCI community. We are currently engaging in two related projects:
1) We are designing an anonymous survey to encourage people to share their stories and foster conversation. We feel that it’s essential to hear from everyone in ESCI about their lived experiences so we can come together and address barriers to access.
2) We are also in conversation with the ESCI Field Committee to support their actions towards increasing accessibility in designing educational field experiences.
Future actions from this team are contingent on conversations with the ESCI community through the survey and via the [email protected] email address. We welcome anyone who is interested in this work to join our team.
